Learn — Data, Methodology & Platform

How CMI works: where the data comes from, the honesty rules behind every number, PRO benefits, and answers about the platform.

Our Data Principles

Real data only

All figures come from official public APIs (e.g. exchange APIs, Hyperliquid official API, publicly disclosed fund information). We never scrape-and-invent.

N/A over fabrication

If a field is unavailable, it's shown as N/A or Not Available — never guessed, never treated as zero, never presented as real.

No APY / realized mixing

We show realized historical returns and clearly separate them from projected APY. We never dress up a projection as history.

Transparent methodology

Every metric's computation is disclosed (e.g. returns from account-value history, drawdown, Sharpe, consistency). You can see how a number is made.

Independent, not advice

We are an independent data and research tool, not financial advice and not a broker. No private keys, no trading on your behalf.

Accounts, PRO & Disclosure

What is PRO?

A subscription that unlocks deeper research features — comparisons, advanced rankings and Pro-only tools, billed as a subscription on the Pricing page.

Accounts & watchlist

Register or sign in to save managers to your Watchlist and personalize your experience. Your data stays yours.

Affiliate disclosure

We may earn commissions from referrals. This does not change the data and is disclosed site-wide. It is never investment advice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does your data come from?+

Official public APIs and publicly disclosed information — for example exchange trading data, Hyperliquid's official API (vaults, userVaultEquities, account-value history), and what funds disclose publicly. We don't fabricate or estimate as fact.

Why do some fields show N/A or Not Available?+

Because the public data source doesn't expose them (e.g. per-event vault flows, performance fees). We mark them unavailable rather than guess. Showing 'Not Available' is a deliberate honesty choice.

Do you trade or hold my money?+

No. CMI is an intelligence and research tool. We never hold private keys and never trade on your behalf. Any deposit/withdraw happens on the underlying chain through your own wallet.

Is this financial advice?+

No. Everything on CMI is independent data and research, with an affiliate disclosure. It is not investment advice — please do your own research and consult a professional before investing.

What's the difference between Traders, Vaults and Funds?+

Traders = copy-trading leaders you can follow (mirrors positions). Vaults = on-chain managed capital pools you deposit into. Funds = structured investment vehicles with public disclosure. Each has its own guide in the Learn Center.

Why don't you show APY?+

APY is a forward-looking projection and can be misleading. We show realized historical returns with their computation disclosed, and clearly separate them from any projected figure.

Crypto investing is high-risk. Past performance does not guarantee future results. CMI is an independent research tool with affiliate disclosure — not investment advice.
